a small group beginning to meet after mainstage
Monday, July 13 (The first really big day at CHIC)
The day started off with Base Camps after breakfast. This is a group of about 100 other people from our church and another church (Modesto, CA Covenant) to do an experience and a seminar on a common theme. Our basecamp (Mount Augusta) combined with about 5 other basecamps to look at Self. How do we see ourselves and how do others see us and how does that compare to how God sees us.

After lunch, students hung out, played sports, listened to bands play all day, did art work, and went to the pool. Maybe you could call standing in line for lunch some sort of recreation as it isn’t that easy to stand in land for over an hour!!
Mainstage
After dinner, Salvador played in the block party and then it was on to the mainstage with the David Crowder Band who was fabulous and fun and really worship oriented, then the excellent speaker, Shane Claiborne who spoke about the need for Christians to love this world, to really love the people around us and do what Jesus says to do. It was moving and challenging.
It was a big day. It was a fun day. We have looked at this day and declared “It is good.”
Everyone is doing great being together and being involved with what is going on!
