heading into mainstage

heading into mainstage

Thursday, July 17

And just like that, CHIC was all over.  The week went by so fast and it feels like we’ve been here forever!  Some highlights for the last day included…

Basecamp focused on Others and how we view others around us, constantly comparing them to us and putting them into boxes of how we define people.  The emphasis was on viewing others as God views them, as loved people.  They did an experience that showed how bad they can be at guessing certain things about people.

After lunch, there was a 5 on 5 basketball tournament in which our group had about 20 people playing in it, 5 at a time of course.  Today the group took 2nd place overall and had a great time.  Lots of people played and they were such great sports about the game and had a great time together.

Tonight worship was led by Third Day and the CHIC band then the speaker, Ephrim Smith challenged students to jump over the 3 foot wall like an Impala in the zoo and be free.  You’ll definitely have to ask them about that one.

It was a great week and a week that will be long remembered for these students so thank you for all your prayers and support and believing in these students.  I think it is worth it!

Tomorrow we head out at 9:30 or so for the white water rafting on the Nolichucky River.  Then we head to Cincinnati for a night sleep.  We’ll update you tomorrow.
